Biography
Robert Merlo joined North Shore Law LLP as an associate in January 2008. Prior to joining North Shore Law LLP, he worked at a major downtown Vancouver law firm, as well as for one of the largest law firms in the Fraser Valley, BC.
Rob focuses his practice on personal injury law, insurance litigation and the defence of personal injury claims. He has also acted on behalf of injured parties in personal injury claims. As a result, Rob has a broad experience with both third party and first party claims, including coverage and excess insurance issues.
Rob is also experienced in litigating matters dealing with Occupier’s Liability, Commercial Host Liability, and Disability Insurance Claims.
Well versed in pre-trial procedural matters and alternative dispute resolutions methods, Rob handles summary trials and expedited civil matters under the new Rules of Court.
Robert’s personal pursuits include playing hockey, golfing and cycling. He is also conversant in Italian.
Education
Rob obtained his Bachelor of Arts from the University of British Columbia in 1993. He then went on to obtain his law degree from the University of Manitoba in 1997.
